Meet Geena!
Geena is the founder and owner of Spring Speech and Myo Therapy, PLLC. She is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Certified Orofacial Myologist. She is also an active member of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA). Geena completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Geena specializes in the areas of oral sensory-motor, feeding and swallowing, orofacial myofunctional therapy, articulation/phonology, early language, and childhood apraxia of speech. She has additional training and experience in tethered oral tissues. Geena provides family-centered care that is highly skilled and compassionate in order to improve an individual’s oral function skills for optimal communication, feeding and swallowing, and orofacial development. She is an experienced clinician who works with infants, children, and adults. Geena is continually staying current in her skills through continuing education to provide the best care possible. She has received the ACE award numerous times from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association for excellence in continuing education.
Outside of the office, Geena enjoys spending time with her family and their dog, checking out new food spots, and traveling.
